Catherine Greer, Managing Director
Catherine Greer joined Connect Northwest in April of 2007, and became managing
director in 2009. She left a Ph.D. program in Virginia to move Spokane, and prior to
joining Connect Northwest had been busy with volunteer work at her children's school,
with Habitat for Humanity, and as president and schools committee chair of the Harvard
Club of the Inland Northwest. Catherine has a B.A. in English from Harvard, and a
Master's in American Studies from William and Mary.
Tom Simpson, President of the Spokane Angel Alliance
Tom Simpson has over 22 years of experience as an investment banker, venture capitalist
and angel investor, and is co-founder of GreenCupboards. Through NWVA, Tom has raised and
invested over $150 million in emerging companies throughout the Northwest. Prior to forming
NWVA, he was a Managing Director in Dain Bosworth's Seattle-based investment banking group.
Tom began his career as a CPA for Deloitte, Haskins + Sells. Tom serves on the Boards of the
Technology Alliance of Washington and the Mobius Science Center and on the Advisory Board
for the University of Washington Foster School of Business. He is a director of Berg
Manufacturing, Estorian, GreenCupboards, NetMotion, and Telect and observes on the boards of
Sur La Table and SinglePoint. Tom has a bachelor's degree in business administration from
the University of Washington, an MBA from The Wharton School and is an adjunct professor in
Gonzaga University's Hogan Entrepreneurial Leadership Program.
